Eleven fun-filled weeks of summer learning, exploration and games for ages 3-10. Visit a new country each week and be emersed in geography, culture, games and little food and language. By the end of summer, students will have gained knowledge of countries outside of America. While we travel the world each morning, our afternoons will be filled with a weekly activity, such as Messy Monday or Wet & Wild Wedesdays.

Week 1: May 31 - June 3 Meet Our Travelers
In our first week together we will get to know all our world travelers. We will get our passports ready for travel and talk about what it means to travel!

Week 2: June 6-10 Welcome to Egypt
We hopped on a plane and our first stop is Egypt! We will learn how to write in hieroglyphics, build pyramids, and play games similar to those of children in Ancient Egypt times.

Week 3: June 13-17 Kon’nichiwa from Japan!
We left Egypt and landed in Japan this week. Join us as we take an inside look at the writings, the culture, and the food of Japan. We will see firsthand pictures of Japan provided by Mrs. Lostroh.

Week 4: June 20-24 China
Our travelers are headed to China this week to learn about Chinese culture, and the Chinese New Year.

Week 5: June 27-July 1 Pit Stop in America
We will be celebrating 4th of July back in the United States! We will learn all about our government system, important landmarks and what the 4th of July means to us.

Week 6: July 5-8 Spain
Our travelers are headed to Europe! Students will note the similarities of Spanish influence on architecture we see in Kansas City. We will also play games played by kids in Spain such as Chapas. Kids will also taste a Spanish snack called Tapas. Kids will be introduced to the Spanish language.

Week 7: July 11-15 Salut from France
Our travelers are continuing to move around Europe. This week we will be in France learning about the French culture including food, language, and famous landmarks. We will also learn a traditional song sung by kids in France! Rejoignez-nous! (Join us!)

Week 8: July 18-22 G’ Day Australia
Our travelers are headed down under to Australia. We will visit significant places to Australia, learn about the food and animals of the land and learn common phrases used in Australia.

Week 9: July 25-29 Ciao! Italy
Travelers will visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa, enjoy the food of Italy and learn a traditional Sicilian dance called the Tarantella. Travelers will also practice some common phrases using the Italian language.

Week 10: August 1-5 Brazil
Travelers will soak in some heat and fun when they visit Brazil. Students will learn to play a Brazilian game, see the flora and fauna of the country. Travelers will also explore the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.

Week 11: August 8-12 Brrr from Antarctica
Our travelers round out their world trip with a cruise around Antarctica. Students will learn about Antarctica’s weather and animals that live there. They will compare Antarctica populations to other countries and investigate why there is a scarce population.
